A top 6? Well it was hard to narrow down all the amazing things I have eaten since beginning my journey to just 5; so 6 it is.
Some of these have been created for me in restaurants or cafes; however surprisingly my favourite I created myself using my favourite food bloggers recipe.
So lets start the count down!
Number 6.
Lord of the fries
Melbourne CBD
This looks messy, but isn't fast food supposed to be?
It was Good friday and I was attending the good friday appeal car show on the waterfront in Melbourne. Completely HANGRY after a long day we set on foot to Flinders station's LORD OF THE FRIES. To my excitement they were advertising a new burger option. It was a Vegan Bacon Cheeseburger. Holy Heck! This burger was so "real" I almost questioned if it was vegan. Of course I got a side of fries with bbq sauce.

Fitzroy - Melbourne
Smith and Daughters was a lovely find. I was looking on the App Happy Cow. (I highly recommend this app to find good vegan food near you) We stepped into this quirky bar one Sunday arvo and came to find the entire menu is Vegan! Unfortunately I couldn't take advantage of this situation as I wasn't all that hungry. So I picked something off their small-ish menu. Creamy garlic butter mushrooms in a spanish sauce with a side of crusty bread. These were sticky and sweet. With a touch of spice they sent my palette wild. Oh and I did have a cheeky apple pie cocktail.

My House
So for this lovely recipe I thank the beautiful website Pinterest. One night I had no idea what to make. All I knew was that I wanted something with leftovers, something full of flavour and something soupish. This is how I came to look at a number of vegan soup recipes and pulled together a bunch of wonderful vegan bloggers for my bookmark list. This particular night I used pinchofyum's recipe. It was so full of flavour and I used some tofu, yellow capsicums, asparagus, spinach and mushrooms to top it off. It left me with 3 lunches for work for the week. BONUS!!!
Number 3.
Brunswick st - Fitzroy
If you are from Melbourne you know that Brunswick street if filled to the brim with some of the best restaurants. For us vegans we are spoilt for choice. However never walk by Vegie Bar without popping in. Almost everything on the menu has a vegan option. This little (or should I say) BIG number is the tofu and quinoa burger with a side of sweet potato chips. The burger has a Sri Racha mayo that ads the best flavour to the red quinoa and tofu patty. Also crammed in that Brioche bun is lettuce, tomato, avocado and vegan cheese. Oh god I nearly forgot to mention that chip dip. Its only the best Chipotle mayo i've ever had.
Number 2.
Degraves street - Melbourne
One of my favourite things of all time are these delicious almost cake like doughnuts. The discovery of these was purely an accident! A blessing even. As my partner and I stumbled across this busy little doughnut shop one day after lunch I looked through the crowds to see what all the fuss was about. There I saw her. VEGAN FOX. A dark chocolate glazed goddess with pistachios and freeze dried strawberries. These are $6 a doughnut but worth every cent.
Number 1.
My House
When I first saw Lauren Toyota's channel hotforfood come up in my side links on youtube I was excited. I knew there was going to be some yummy cooking happening from it. Little did I know that I was not only going to be obsessed with her cooking but she really spoke about veganism in a way that made me truly make the connection. I will do another post or 2 on her later but for now we are talking about these stunning cauliflower burgers!!! A home made ranch sauce and buffalo style cauliflower patties. It is literally life. Do yourself a favour and make this monster of a burger.
THERE YOU HAVE IT!
So far these have been my favourites. what are some of yours?
